Dye-O-Rama

I am in the Dye-O-Rama. Only I have not received my exchange information yet. I am eagerly anticpating it and am waiting until this weekend to order yarn for it. This does not count against the Stash-a-long. I checked ; )

I was browsing around on Knit Picks and I couldn't get the wish list feature to work, so I thought I'd post my Dye-O-Rama needs and wants here! I plan on ordering two skeins of Color Your Own Sock Yarn. One will be for the exchange and the other will be practice yarn that I will use to finish a WIP; therefore, it doesn't count against me in the Stash-a-long.

I will probably also order The Dyer's Companion. I went to a seminar several years ago on using natural dyes and I would really like to try that--although dying with Kool-Aid looks so much easier. I would really like the book, Indigo, Madder, and Marigold, but it is a little expensive. Maybe I can find a used copy on Amazon.com. I already have a book on useful native Texas plants and it has a dying section, but it really doesn't give me all the information I need as a newbie.

I'll probably stick with Kool-aid for the first round, but I aim to experiment with some natural dyes in the near future. Especially since that are so many potential plant dyes right in my own yard!

Try eBay for your books. I purchased a copy of Indigo, Madder and Marigold from there for about 12 or 13 dollars ***CV

Natural dyes have always intrigued me. Can't wait to see your stuff! (Kool aid colored too).
