Pattern for Tiger Tweed Pencil Tote
Yarn: 1 skein of black worsted weight yarn, 1 skein of orange worsted weight yarn
Needles: Size 6
Gauge: 20 stitches per 4 inches
Materials: crochet hook, lining fabric (if desired), 9 inch zipper
Finished size: 9 x 3 inches
Directions:
Cast on 47 stitches with the black yarn.
Row 1 (RS) With the orange yarn, k3, *sl wyib, k3; rep from *
Row 2 With orange yarn, k3, *sl 1 wyif, k3; rep from *
Row 3 With black yarn, k1, *sl wyib, k3; rep from *, end sl 1, k1
Row 4 With black yarn, k1, *sl 1 wyif, k3; rep from *, end sl 1, k1
Repeat Rows 1-4 six more times. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 once more.
Knit two rows with black yarn. Knit one row with orange yarn; purl one row with orange yarn. knit two rows with black yarn
Repeat Rows 1-4 seven more times. Repeart Rows 1 and 2 once more.
Cast off with black yarn.
Block flat. Fold in half and crochet the sides together with black yarn. Weave in ends. Sew in zipper. To make a fabric liner, use two pieces of fabric 10 x 4 inches. Sew together with 1/2 inch seam allowances leaving one of the long side open. Turn and hiand stitch in place.
