Meet Gretchen

Meet my new fur-child, Gretchen.

Okay, I said that I wasn't going to be getting a house bunny until summer; I did it anyway. However, this wasn't a impulse Easter purchase. I have been reading about house bunnies for about six months. I even bought a book on the subject. She is already very good about using her litter box, but I still can't trust her outside her bunny condo by herself. She's still pretty young. I will be getting her spayed as soon as I can. This is good for her health and makes her a better, more affectionate house bunny.

She is not very happy in the above two pictures. The position of her ears indicate a grumpy girl. Most rabbits do not like to be picked up. But I like the one above since you can see how big her ears are.

Here she is doing some exploring!

She's so sweet. I love bunny ears but even better are big bunny feet. We need some bunny feet pictures!

Your House Bunny is cute! The ears straight up mean a grumpy bunny? That's so cute too.

Bunny feet! I agree with Stephanie. I need to see bunny feet. And then I have to pet Gretchen. (Please?)

That's a very sweet-looking bunny. I used to have that same house rabbits book when I had an apartment bunny years ago. Her real name was Ramona but her nickname was Chewie. Don't mean to scare you, but there's a good reason for the nickname! Keep an eye on all your electrical and telephone cords. Giving her lots of cardboard (esp. the tubes from toilet paper and paper towels) helped distract Chewie from going after other things.

Thanks Bonnie for the heads up! This weekend I will be putting all my cords in plastic tubing to protect them. She isn't allowed unsupervised yet.
